🏅 Peter Hudson
Peter Hudson was born at New Norfolk and built a formidable reputation with its football club before joining Hawthorn in 1967. His exceptional goal-scoring continued in the VFL, including 150 goals in the 1971 season and a premiership that year. Injury interrupted his career, but he returned for another prolific Hawthorn season in 1977. New Norfolk later honoured him with a statue. The town’s connection is both personal and sporting: it was his birthplace and the club from which one of football’s great full-forwards emerged.
